Kenny Christy of Vanceburg, KY drove his No. 2 Late Model to his first track championship at Portsmouth Raceway Park in 2000. Christy started 15 races, posted nine top 10's, three top five's and a feature win last season. In a class where light-weight aluminum, engine blocks are the norm, Christy defied the competition by earning his success with a steel block. Christy fended off Audie Swartz, Craig "Fudge" Leist, Bill Bocook and R. J. Conley for the Late Model title.

#87 Eddie Harmon

Eddie Harmon of Ironton, Ohio cruised to his first PRP track championship in 2000, winning the Modified title by 220 points. Harmon started 14 A-Mains, earned 10 top 10 finishes, seven top five's and captured one checkered flag. Harmon fended off Todd Robinson, Bo Cox, Adam Jordan and Ben Adkins for the Modified crown.

STREET STOCK

#83 Tim Robinson

Tim Robinson of Ironton, Ohio edged long-time friend and former PRP Street Stock champ John Melvin for the 2000 Street Stock title. Robinson was a picutre of consistency, as he finished in the top 10 in 13 of his A-Main starts. Nine of those 10 top 10's were top five finishes. Robinson recorded two wins over the course of the 2000 campaign, including one in the final race of the season.

#79 Phillip Kouns

Phillip Kouns of Ashland, KY went right along with the 2000 trend at Portsmouth Raceway Park, as he captured his very first PRP track championship, just as the other three track champs did. Kouns put his No. 79 Bomber in a dozen A-Mains and finished in the top 10 in seven of them. Kouns also recorded five top five finishes and three feature wins.
